What's 4 years between friends?

Tick-tock, tick-tock...life moves so slowly for me. How can it be that I have another year of life and I still feel like I am 17 years old? I'm making all of the same mistakes I made when I was 17...I am doing all of the things now I probably should have been doing at 17. Good kid makes bad...

What I think I will do here is write about the shows I see, places I visit, things that are interesting that happen to me and put all of you to sleep...save your Codine for the road.

I am currently working in the mid-West and I am trying to keep up my committment to see one live, local show per week. That's not too much to offer any live music scene - anyone who claims to love music, you owe that committment to yourself and those artists that are trying to create something around you. So...pick up your local free weekly or ask someone close to you and go see one show every week. Deal? Nice...gold stars for everyone if you go this week.

For me? I went to see The Clumsy Lovers last night. Tight, Celtic-rock 5 piece from Vancouver. I am a mutt, genetically speaking, and do have some Irish blood, but Celtic rock hasn't impressed me. Same goes for Seven Nations, The Coors...etc. However, The Clumsy Lovers are talented and know how to move a crowd...within 2 minutes of their opening number, the whitebread crowd was moving and shakin'. Banjo and violin solo trades were impressive and the wildly interpretive dance of the two soloists added to the flavor. Like I said...the white folks loved it and I am impressed with the musicianship, but I don't get it. It's like Bela Fleck...you're an excellent musician, now sing and make us all happy.
