The power of the internet (for me) is also the greatest distraction. Today, I come across Matt Mahaffey's second release (the group he front's is called Self - really solid stuff, technical / orchestral pop, check it out) - Breakfest with Girls. As I'm listening to groups, I often wonder what their up to - are they recording, touring, quitting and taking day jobs?

So, I fire up Mr. Netscape...Google search...and slam, I'm in Self music central - replete with Message board. There's 20 minutes reading all of those entries. Then I wonder, "what's Talib Kweli been up to?" - with his new release. Search...another 20 minutes gone. sheesh...

The latest Shane Bartell record is progressing very well. While navigating the back streets of Austin, Texas and listening to the basic tracks last week, we defined it as "you're gonna wanna make love to your lady while listening to this record."
