Hope and peace in the New Year.

There's always something strange when seeing your name in the press. A friend and I were in a coffee house New Year's Day and were asked our predictions for 2003. I made some observations (mostly laughable) and went on to see The Two Towers.

Walked into work today to scowls and frowns - it's not nice to belittle the local college football team with negative predictions in their hometown. The person interviewed after me predicted "war, pestilence and famine." Sheesh...I say their team's gonna stink - this guy predicts global meltdown and I'm wearing the scarlet letter? I think it's time to leave...

But, it did get me thinking...are things really that bad?
