You're a witch if I've ever known one...
What's 4 years between friends?

Hope I didn't scare anyone off Friday. Rest assured (those in the Washington DC area) I was 100% in control when I hit the highways and byways that afternoon. Funny thing, legal speed. But everyone around here is so caught up that it is "Fair Trade" speed...not that bad, anti-worker, corporate conglomerate speed.

So, I've turned my back on the black liquid mistress and gone back to the wife - Nothing says "Good Morning" like an Emer'gen-C - Super Orange.

On the drive back from Savannah to DC (on I-95 - congratulations Lou and Lori!), you come to the mecca known as "Perdo's South of the Border." Pedro's is a Mexican theme rest stop, replete with the South of the Border Strip Club, Fireworks Stand, Roller Coaster and Motor Inn - in that order off the Highway exit. The diner is small, but features the always popular "Cold today, Hot Tamale"...Genevieve loves that one...say it a few times, you'll end up laughing too.

My happiest / scariest moment at Pedro's South of the Border was Sunday afternoon when the man driving the GAS TRUCK pulled in to re-fill the pumps at the Pedro Pump. I know you've seen a GAS TRUCK, sometime in your life - long, silver tube trailers with CAUTION - FLAMABLE signs. The old timer gets out, connects the hose to the truck...connects the hose to the valve in the concrete and starts to re-fill. Now...he's putting gas into the tank in the ground...and gas has fumes that (if a spark comes near) can set the gas on fire and explode.

But to him, kneeling on the ground, holding onto a tube with 5000 gallons of gasoline is a perfect time to light up and enjoy a cigarette. I actually pointed and laughed...while my brain processed in 1.7 seconds what could happen if the gas catches fire. I sprinted back to my car and drove away.
