The new jacket got, got. And after one good washing, will fit like a glove. Downtown Chicago has not changed much - but the gallery district has seen some improvements. Word to the wise - thrift store shopping is Chicago is pointless. Those cool people, who are desperately trying not to be cool, already bought everything...well...cool.
The mastered Oliver Future record sounds like trumpets and marching bands and Matmos and train crashes and Curtis Mayfield and deep, deep red wine - all played through John Bonham's kick drum pedal. Shane's master should come back by Friday, so I can have some obtuse, rock critic reference to describe his record after the weekend - check back!
Until then, come see the live version of BOTH this Friday at the Mercury, in downtown Austin, Texas at 10 p.m.
