Oh me of little faith. Final mixing went very well. There were only 2 "discussions" where our voices raised above normal "idiot rock 'n roll" volume. Both places were minor infractions and were easily described as "stylistic differences." No one's upset or hurt - as evidenced by the whole group adjourning for drinks at Opal Divine's after the day was complete.
The 1/4" tape that holds the immediate future of this very small record label is boarding a jet airliner tomorrow afternoon and will be mastered by a gentleman named Bob Michaels. Bob is working a miracle for us by completing the mastering work on both the Oliver Future record AND Shane's record in the same week. "I have no doubt we can get them both done in a week," Bob says..."I kinda have to. I'm booked in every room for the next 3 weeks. Have you ever heard of a band called Foo Fighters?"
It's at this point I realize I'm a very small fish in a very big ocean.
Hopefully I can score some polaroids of Dave Ghrol and Bob Michaels freaking out over "1 in 24" and "Almost Perfect." Wish us luck.
